Before celebrating the Sacrament of Penance, one should prepare oneself with an examination of conscience, which involves reflecting prayerfully on one’s thoughts, words, and deeds in order to identify any sins.
There are various types of examinations of conscience but regardless of which one you use to prepare yourself for the Sacrament it should be rooted in Scripture; particularly, the Ten Commandments and Beatitudes. Below are a few examples of Examinations of Conscience that can help you prepare for the Sacrament.

Antes de celebrar el Sacramento de la Penitencia, uno debe prepararse con un examen de conciencia, que consiste en reflexionar en oración sobre los propios pensamientos, palabras y obras para identificar los pecados.
Hay varios tipos de exámenes de conciencia, pero independientemente de cuál use para prepararse para el Sacramento, debe estar arraigado en las Escrituras; particularmente, los Diez Mandamientos y las Bienaventuranzas. A continuación hay algunos ejemplos de Exámenes de Conciencia que pueden ayudarlo a prepararse para el Sacramento.
