First Scrutiny (The Creed)

Attendees: For candidates, parents and Godparents (if Godparents are not able to be present, you will need to select somebody who will represent them at the ceremony) Five (5) people in total (including the candidate) can attend the ceremony

Purpose of this meeting: On this ceremony, the candidate will ‘publicly professes his/her faith in our Lord Jesus” that is why they will pray The Creed with the priest. The entire Parish Community will join them and pray for them, so they can be lawful children of God.

  • Dress Code / Codigo de Vestimenta

Girls/Ladies must wear khaki pants and a Our Lady of Guadalupe T-Shirt. No gowns, No high heels.
Niñas/Damas deben usar un pantalon Khaki y el t-shirt de Our Lady of Guadalupe. No tunicas, no tacos altos

Boys/Gentlemen must wear khaki pants and a Our Lady of Guadalupe T-Shirt. No gowns, No sneakers.
Niños/caballeros pantalon Khaki y el t-shirt de Our Lady of Guadalupe. No gowns, No sneakers.

Second Scrutiny (The Lords’ Prayer)

Attendees: For candidates, parents and Godparents (if Godparents are not able to be present, you will need to select somebody who will represent them at the ceremony) Five (5) people in total (including the candidate) can attend the ceremony

Purpose of this meeting: On this ceremony, the candidate will ‘publicly pray for first time the Our Father” and publicly will accept the gift of being a Child of God. The entire Parish Community will join them and pray for them, so they can be faithful children of God.

  • Dress Code / Codigo de Vestimenta

  1. On this ceremony, the candidate will ‘publicly profess that Jesus is the Son of God”.
  2. On this Ceremony, the candidate will participate of the Pre-Baptismal Rites
    1. Imposition of the Baptismal Name
    1. Imposition of the White Vestment
    1. Anointing with the Holy Oil of the Catechumen
    1. The Ephpheta Rite
  • Dress Code / Codigo de Vestimenta

Girls/Ladies must wear THE WHITE GOWN. No high heels.
Niñas/Damas deben usar LA TUNICA BLANCA, no tacos altos

Boys/Gentlemen must wear THE WHITE GOWN, No sneakers.
Niños/caballeros deben usar LA TUNICA BLANCA. No sneakers.
