- Who need to Attend:
- The Candidate and his/her Sponsor (if Godparents are not able to be present, you will need to select somebody who will represent them at the ceremony, dad or mom can represent the sponsor).
- Father and Mother
- El Candidato y su padrino o madrina (si los padrinos no pueden estar presentes, deberá seleccionar a alguien que los represente en la ceremonia, papa o mama pueden representar al sponsor)
- Papa y Mama
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the space limitations at the Cathedral, all parents will be seated in the Parish Hall to view the Rite of Election via a live-stream. Only the Catechumens, one sponsor, and up to two RCIA leaders will be seated in the Cathedral. Parents will have to register in order to attend. No siblings, grandparents, or other family members are able to attend-please.
- Purpose of this meeting: This Ceremony is very important. On this day the candidates will be personally welcomed by Archbishop Wenski, the Archbishop of Miami. In his presence the candidates will write their names in the Book of the Elected, which is a special book kept at the Cathedral of Miami and symbolizes the Heart of God, the spiritual meaning of this ceremony is that “the candidate’s name is now written in the very Heart of God”
Propósito de esta reunión: Esta ceremonia es muy importante. En este día, los candidatos serán recibidos personalmente por el arzobispo Wenski, el arzobispo de Miami. En su presencia, los candidatos escribirán sus nombres en el Libro del Elegido, que es un libro especial que se conserva en la Catedral de Miami y simboliza el Corazón de Dios. El significado espiritual de esta ceremonia es que “el nombre del candidato ahora está escrito en el mismo Corazón de Dios “

Girls/Ladies must wear khaki pants and a Our Lady of Guadalupe T-Shirt. No gowns, No high heels.

Boys/Gentlemen must wear khaki pants and a Our Lady of Guadalupe T-Shirt. No gowns, No sneakers.
