Novena to the Holy Spirit

La Novena en honor al Espíritu Santo es la más antigua de todas las novenas, ya que se hizo por primera vez bajo la dirección de nuestro Señor mismo, cuando envió a sus apóstoles de regreso a Jerusalén para esperar la venida del Espíritu Santo en el primer Pentecostés.

Sigue siendo la única Novena prescrita oficialmente por la Iglesia Católica. Dirigida a la Tercera Persona de la Santísima Trinidad, es una poderosa súplica por la luz, la fuerza y el amor que tanto necesita todo cristiano, especialmente en estos tiempos difíciles.

**Novena to the Holy Spirit in English**

This novena is a nine-day prayer, recalling the nine days that the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Apostles spent in prayer between Ascension Thursday and Pentecost Sunday. When Christ ascended into Heaven, He told them that He would send His Holy Spirit, and so they prayed for the coming of the Spirit.

Because of the connection between the original novena and Pentecost, this particular novena is very special. It is an expression of the desire of the faithful to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit
