VIDEOS EMPOWERING GOD’S CHILDREN
Our Lady of Guadalupe is dedicated to teaching the Catholic Faith to the children of our parish. Additionally, the Religious Education Department is charged with presenting the “Teaching Boundary Safety” program to our students.
The archdiocese has identified Teaching Boundary Safety as its program for children. Teaching Boundary Safety was developed by the same people who developed Virtus.
The strong points of this program are that it is age-appropriate, or geared to the different grade levels of children. Also, it is taught by teachers who know the readiness level of the children in their class-room. In addition, parents are able to opt out of the program. Nothing is taught to their children unless they approve.
Teaching Boundary Safety also includes an educational component for parents.
Teaching Boundary Safety is a safe environment program that speaks to children at various grade levels in an effort to keep them safe from abuse.
Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe se dedica a enseñar la fe católica a los niños de nuestra parroquia. Además, el Departamento de Educación Religiosa se encarga de presentar el programa “Enseñando Limites y Seguridad” a nuestros estudiantes. Este programa es parte del esfuerzo continuo de la Arquidiócesis de Miami para ayudar a crear y mantener un ambiente seguros para los niños.
La Arquidiócesis ha identificado el Programa de los Límites y la Seguridad como su programa para niños. El Programa de los Límites y la Seguridad fue desarrollado por las mismas personas que desarrollaron Virtus. Entre los puntos fuertes de este programa se destaca su adecuación a las distintas edades, o estar dirigido a los distintos niveles en la educación de los niños. Los maestros que lo enseñan conocen también el nivel de capacidad de los niños en su salón de clases. Además, los padres pueden optar por que sus hijos no participen en el programa. A los niños no se les enseña nada sin la aprobación de los padres. El Programa de los Límites y la Seguridad también incluye un componente educativo para los padres.
El Programa de los Límites y la Seguridad es un programa de ambiente seguro desarrollado para los niños de distintos niveles educativos, en un esfuerzo por protegerles del abuso.

Teaching Boundary Safety
Dear Parents
Our Lady of Guadalupe is dedicated to teaching the Catholic Faith to the children of our parish. Additionally, the Religious Education Department is charged with presenting the “Teaching Boundary Safety” program to our students. This program is part of the Archdiocese of Miami’s ongoing effort to help create and maintain safe environments for children.
WHO WILL GIVE THIS LESSON?
This year we will have two (2) classes. One will be given by your catechists and the other one will be given by you, the parent (We need your help and “parent wisdom” on this topic)
a) The lesson given by you, the Parent, can be given any day but it is due on November 21st.
What you need to do is to watch the video at the end of this page and then in your own words, talk to your kids. Follow the instructions in your child’s Google Classroom.
b) The lesson given by your child’s catechist will be given by your Catechists on the First/Second week of November. If you want to be during that class, you are welcome.

VERY Important Notes:
1- You are invited and we encourage you to be present during the lesson. One adult per student can be present.
2- As a parent, you have the right to choose whether your child participates or not. In case you would like to Opt-out your child from this lesson, please sign the Opt-out form and return it via fax, e-mail, or mail or personally to our parish office.

Queridos Padres
Nuestra Parroquia tiene como fin primordial el educar en la fe católica a nuestros niños. Además el Departamento de Educación Religiosa tiene la responsabilidad de presentar el programa “Enseñando Seguridad y Limites”. Este programa es parte del esfuerzo de nuestra Arquidiócesis de Miami en crear y mantener un ambiente seguro para nuestros niños. Esta lección será dada a sus hijos en el horario regular de clases
¿QUIÉN DARÁ ESTA LECCIÓN?
Este año tendremos dos (2) lecciones. Una dada por el catequista de su nino/a y otra dada por ud., mama o papa (necesitamos de su ayuda y “sabidura de padres” sobre este tema)
a) La lección impartida por usted, padres, puede impartirse cualquier día, pero debe entregarse el 21 de noviembre. Lo que ud. necesita hacer es ver el video que esta al final de esta pagina y luego hablar sobre el mismo con su hijo/a. Siga las instrucciones en el Google Classroom de su hijo/a
b) La lección impartida por el catequista de su hijo se dará durante el primer/seguna semana de Noviembre. Si ud. desea estar presente, por favor me lo hace saber.
LIBRO DE GUIA para Padres
Siendo uds. los principales educadores de sus hijos, queremos proveerles los medios para poder enseñarles este tema tan importante de tal manera que ellos tengan las herramientas necesarias que les asegure un ambiente seguro. Por favor clic aquí y podrán bajar una guía escrita para los papas y catequistas donde se explica esta lección. Por supuesto, si uds. tienen alguna pregunta siéntanse libres en contactarnos. Nuestro deseo es trabajar con uds. de tal manera que sus hijos puedan vivir y prosperar en nuestra comunidad parroquial.
Notas MUY Importantes:
1- Uds. están invitados, es mas preferimos que estén presentes juntos a sus niños durante la lección.
2- Como padre, usted tiene el derecho a determinar si su hijo participara de esta lección. En caso de que decida que no participara por favor complete y firme el formulario “Opt-out” y envíemelo vía fax, e-mail, correo postal o tráigalo personalmente a nuestra oficina parroquial.
